In this Season of Reflection
As the Talisman Civil Consultants team wraps up its fourth year in business, celebrating our anniversary on December 16th, I wanted to take a moment to express our appreciation to you, our colleagues, our clients, our friends, and our family. 2020 will certainly go down as a wild one for everyone, and we are grateful that our team has been able to continue our growth in spite of the rapid changes in reaction to the coronavirus pandemic. Our staff adapted seamlessly to phases of working from home this year, and our IT Leader, Tyson Bowlden, worked hard to ensure our technology systems were fully accessible no matter the employee’s location.
In spite of pandemic challenges, we saw significant growth throughout the office and were able to add several new staff members to support our growing workload. Jefferson Bell earned his P.E. license; Senior Project Manager Dan Bourque, P.E. joined our growing team; and we secured two new indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contracts with the Salt Lake County for survey services and for both engineering and survey services with the Salt Lake City Department of Public Utilities. Our survey team also grew by leaps and bounds, adding additional field crews and absorbing major new repeat clients into the workload on a week-to-week basis this year.
We have been immensely impressed by how our industry and our clients have evolved in these virtual times, connecting regularly via video calls and telephone calls, as Architects, Developers, and government staff members all pressed forward to keep major projects on track. Most importantly, we have managed to keep our entire team safe and healthy throughout this pandemic and are closing out the year, not with our typical holiday party, but instead by supporting the Salt Lake area restaurant industry and other local, small businesses with holiday gifts for our entire team.
Thanks to each of you who continue to offer us so many opportunities to deliver services for your valuable projects, and to those of you who continue to provide us both the feedback and the opportunities we need as a growing business. We couldn’t have made it through 2020 without you, and we look forward to celebrating in person with you all as the public health pandemic is brought under control.
Sincerely,
Ryan Cathey, P.E. | President
