Talisman is a full-service engineering and surveying firm established by an experienced team in Salt Lake City in 2016. We specialize in site and land development, utility development, and detailed survey services, including high-definition LIDAR scanning and aerial photography. To each assignment, we also bring a focused perspective on sustainability, both for the benefit of the environment and client economics. 

Our technicians spend their workdays on the go, working with a Survey Party Chief in the field using their company-provided vehicle. Your Responsibilities as a Locator: correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and storm drain and sewer systems; thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locates. Our utility technicians will also work directly with the Survey Party Chief to learn the ins and outs of land survey services.  Our technicians will be provided with GPS equipment to survey their locates.  TCC’s land survey group has projects all over the county, so some travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems
  • Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate
  • Work outdoors in the fresh air, using a company-provided laptop to document and close all tickets
  • These are daytime, full-time positions, and overtime may be required
  • TCC has projects located out of state; some travel will be required.  Per Diem and expenses will be covered before travel.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of prior locating experience necessary
  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs
  • Computer proficiency
  • Available to work overtime and weekends (as needed)
  • Able to pass a drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record

Pay Range

$18.00 - $23.00/Hour (Dependent on Experience)
