James returned to Talisman at the start of 2022 after having a long tenure of experience working as a former member of our team. He was on staff with the NV5 Salt Lake City office and also transitioned to Talisman Civil Consultants when the firm was launched. With his return to TCC, James brings a strong record of collaboration and project management success back to our team at just the right moment in our company’s growth. He also brings to our team further experience in additional industries across Utah.

He has been active in the design and construction industries around the Salt Lake region for more than 20 years, most recently leading major design improvements at the Kennecott Copper Mine. With a particular focus on project management and team leadership, James has led project teams with as many as 20 staff members and sub-consultant partners.

James has an outstanding reputation for effectively helping clients in navigating the project process and delivering designs and specifications that meet and achieve the intent and goals of the owner organizations. He has led both civil engineering and structural engineering projects and delivered drawings for architectural firms as well, a truly diverse background that helps provide him with strong capabilities in accurately reading and interpreting project drawings across the project spectrum.

His experience, including his time as a member of our team, has included mountain resort projects, land development projects, office buildings, schools, community buildings, convenience stations, and an even further array of project types.

James is a former member of the U.S. Army, where he served around the country from 1990-1993.
