Weber State University Davis Campus Entry & College of Engineering Building
In an effort to accommodate a significant growth in population in the Weber State University’s College of Engineering, Applied Science & Technology (EAST) at the school’s Davis Campus, Talisman was hired as a sub-consultant to GSBS Architects to help site a new 50,000 square foot building and a new grand campus entry. In addition to providing a location for computer science and software engineering courses, this new building is also home to the University’s growing automotive technology program.
The Talisman team’s work on the $20 million project included an ALTA and topographic survey of the entire site, site civil engineering, roadway design, and intersection design. Our roadway design work focused on multi-use path design and median and intersection design for the new grand campus entrance, now located off State Route 193. We collaborated with our traffic engineering partners at Fehr & Peers for this high-profile entry.
Finally, in support of the design of the engineering building, our team produced storm drain, sanitary water, and water line designs, as well as a utility tunnel to manage the utility services running into the entire Davis Campus. We also created stair and seat wall designs for the tiered site to accommodate outdoor student life activities. Construction for this project completed in 2020.
