300 West Streetscape

300 West Streetscape

Salt Lake City, Utah

In an effort to support economic development and future growth along the western entry to Downtown Salt Lake City, the City has undergone a multi-phase beautification project along the 300 W corridor.

The TCC team was selected to lead the design of the enhanced streetscape for the one-mile-long northern gateway into the Capitol City through the Marmalade District from Beck Street to North Temple.

Our team worked closely with UDOT, Salt Lake City Engineering, and Salt Lake City RDA staff to achieve UDOT design exceptions. We coordinated with other design team members to collect and facilitate public feedback to create unique and maintainable urban improvements.

Improvements included; Planted medians and bulb-outs for enhanced pedestrian accessibility, traffic calming, paving and artistic signage. The completed project will help establish a new brand and revitalized platform for further development in the district.

All design work and the first phase of construction was completed the end of 2015. Our staff prepared a comprehensive set of improvement plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents including a phased cost estimate and bid alternates to allow the RDA to prioritize improvements for implementation. Phase II of the project was completed in 2022.
