The Howick Apartments marks a meaningful addition to Millcreek’s affordable housing landscape, delivering 150 deeply affordable homes in one of the Salt Lake Valley’s most expensive rental markets. Designed with long-term stability and dignity in mind, the project includes 69 three- and four-bedroom apartments tailored specifically for families, along with 11 units reserved for residents who have experienced homelessness. Together, these homes serve households earning between 30% and 60% of Area Median Income, helping close a critical gap in housing access for working families and vulnerable populations.

The community balances affordability with quality, offering spacious layouts, in-unit washers and dryers, Energy Star appliances, air conditioning, and owner-paid water, sewer, and trash. Shared amenities—including a resident lounge, community kitchen, children’s room, playground, bike storage, and an elevated exterior deck—create opportunities for connection and everyday ease. Located near TRAX and bus routes, The Howick also prioritizes access to transit, services, and employment throughout the region.

Talisman Civil Consultants provided full civil engineering and survey services for the project, supporting site design, utility coordination, grading, and construction layout to help deliver a buildable, efficient, and resilient development. The Howick Apartments was made possible through close collaboration with Community Development Corporation of Utah (CDCU), Blueline Development, Shopworks Architecture, and a dedicated group of community advocate partners—all aligned around the shared goal of expanding high-quality, affordable housing in Millcreek.
