Provo 4th District Courthouse Building

Provo 4th District Courthouse Building

Provo, UT

Stringent security throughout site civil design and construction.

As a part of a large local design team led by VCBO Architecture, Talisman was selected to provide site civil engineering and survey services for the State of Utah’s new 4th District Courthouse in Provo, Utah. This project, completed in 2019, included the site civil design for a 250-stall, 2-level parking structure, a 50-stall surface parking lot, and further site amenities.

This site’s highly sensitive courthouse operations required various stringent levels of security throughout the design and construction phases. Topographic, existing conditions, and utility surveys were all performed for the project, along with subdivision platting. Design for the project included a detailed demo phase of existing surface and utility infrastructure that remained from previous structures located on this full city block in downtown Provo. In particular, the utility design around the new parking structure provided several challenges that were solved through close coordination with the total design team.
